On Love

Love is not convenient.
It misplaces you.
Love is seldom efficient.
It lavishes.
Love is not always comfortable.
It is sacrificial.
Love is never consumed with selfishness.
It seeks the best for another first.
Love is the choice to seek the greatest good of another regardless of the cost.
The satisfaction of the lover is found in the revealing of that best choice.
True love is a call to die truly…
Because it demands the death of self.
Not a feeling…
Not an infatuation…
Not a fleeting thought…
But a resolute choice to climb upon an altar of slow fire.
